Mission
To improve our understanding of conodonts and stratigraphy to accurately determine Earth's history and the characterization of bedrock units.
Dr. Nicholas Hogancamp is a research biostratigrapher and affiliated faculty member at Binghamton University's Department of Earth Science. His work focuses on understanding Earth's ancient history through detailed analysis of bedrock and microfossils, with particular expertise in Devonian-Carboniferous conodont biostratigraphy, lithostratigraphy, historical geology, morphometrics, subsurface mapping, and reservoir characterization.
Hogancamp brings diverse geoscience experience including university and museum research and teaching positions, petroleum geology roles in onshore and offshore settings, and independent research consulting work. His research integrates multiple disciplines—from mapping geological formations in the field to examining microscopic fossils in the lab, developing quantitative analytical techniques that advance our understanding of Earth's geological past.
